Herbs, who doesn’t love them?  They are very important for cooking, and if you are like me you don’t like buying them at the grocery store.  I don’t like paying the expensive prices and on more than one occasion I have forgotten them for a particular recipe.  I solved all of my problems when I planted an herb box.

I generally have a black thumb, but surprise surprise, I have been able to keep my garden alive!  We were going to plant an entire garden, but because I am a beginner I wanted to test out the waters with a box that I filled with Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Chives, Oregano and Parsley.  So far so good.   It is so easy to do, that I decided to make my mom one for Mother’s Day!

All you have to do is go to your local nursery (I went to Armstrong because I like the selection and its close by), pick out a planting box or planter, fill with dirt ¾ of the way and fill with your herbs of choice!  Remember to keep the names on sticks or near the plants so you remember which herb is which!

Happy planting!
